Gypsy moths

I just went up Mount Nittany the other day and I was in shock over how much devastation the gypsy moths have caused. Nearly every tree on the southern side is 90% defoliated.

There's so much sunlight getting through now that I got a sunburn, and the undergrowth (mostly ferns) are taking over.

The state had better spray early next year or those old oaks are going to start dying. I'm told they can withstand a year or two of this. Who knows.

What a shame.
