I have been day hiking for about 7 years and am ready to get more serious! I have been reading books from hikers on the Appalachian Trail and am getting the urge to try it. I teach and so would like to section hike June and July until completed. But before I do this, I need to do some smaller backpacking trips. I am looking at the MId State Trail, Quehanna Trail... I live in Philipsburg, PA and am looking for a backpacking partner. I am going to the AT gathering at Gettysburg this Fall on Oct 5-7. If anyone near by is interested in going,contact me.
